Canada

This specimen features a complex, brown sphalerite crystal perched on a dolostone matrix, associated with a bit of calcite. The sphalerite  has a silky irredescent red-orange sheen, and it presents a wonderful cluster of sharp, highly modified, inter-grown crystals.

This piece hails from the Dundas Quarry in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada—a lesser-known locality that has produced fine examples of sphalerite over the years. Dundas Quarry, situated in southwestern Ontario's limestone belt, has yielded notable specimens of sphalerite, fluorite, dolomite, and calcite. The specimen is in great condition with virtually no damage on the display side, making it a fantastic addition for collectors of sphalerite, or Canadian minerals.

Note: All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). International customers are charged in CAD, exchange rate is calculated automatically by your bank/paypal upon checkout.
