Smithsonite (var Cobaltoan)

This thumbnail specimen features several well formed, soft pink, cobaltoan smithsonite crystals, with the largest reaching 6 mm. The crystals are beautifully associated with a galena matrix which creates a dynamic display from multiple angles. From the international collection of Peter Tarassoff, a Canadian collector who contributed greatly to the mineralogical community.
