This miniature specimen features a lustrous, light mint-green smithsonite crystal aggregate from the Skorpion Mine, Rosh Pinah, Namibia. The smithsonite displays a bright, glassy sheen and an appealing pastel colour that is highly characteristic of the best material from this mine. Adding further intrigue is a single, barite blade perched delicately on the smithsonite surface. The Skorpion Mine is well known for producing excellent zinc mineral specimens alongside its role as one of the world’s major zinc operations. This attractive piece comes from the collection of Robert Yeoman, the Irish-born, Toronto-based collector celebrated for his fine suite of Namibian minerals.
