It originates from the Beaver Mine, one of the deepest mines in the Cobalt area, which was actively worked between 1907 and 1940. The Beaver Mine was developed with two shafts, the deepest reaching a depth of 1,600 feet, and featured 8.5 miles of drifts and crosscuts. During its operational period, the mine produced approximately 7.1 million ounces of silver and 140,000 pounds of cobalt.
