Silver, in Breccia

Silverfields mine, Cobalt, Ontario
Canada

$700.00

This particular specimen consists of a thick slice of dolomite breccia, heavily impregnated with rich native silver, with some areas showing exceptionally thick silver veins cutting through the entire piece. Both dendritic silver growths and fine silver veinlets are visible, along with rough, natural mineralogical textures along the edges due to the thickness of the slice. hosted in dolomitic rock from the historic Silverfields Mine, one of the most notable operations in the famed Cobalt mining district. Operating from 1963 to 1983, Silverfields was among the last mines to close in the district, contributing significantly to Canadian mining history with its exceptional high-grade silver production. Specimens from this locality are increasingly rare, making this an excellent example for collectors of Cobalt Camp material.  This is a superb, high-grade example from one of the Cobalt Camp’s historic and final producing mines.
