This specimen is a polished slice from a large vein of high-grade dendritic silver intergrown with arsenides, hosted in dolomitic rock. It comes from the historic Silverfields Mine, one of the earliest and most notable operations in the famed Cobalt mining district.
The Silverfields Mine played a significant role in Canadian mining history, renowned for producing exceptional high grade silver. Operating from 1963 to 1983, the mine was among the last in the district to close. Specimens from this locality are rare, making this an excellent example for collectors of Cobalt Camp material.
