This specimen is a high-grade ore featuring silver leaf partially covering one side of the piece. The exposed face has been lightly etched with acid to reveal the silver leaf, while the other sides remain in their raw, natural state. This specimen originates from the Langis Mine, a site that has been owned and operated by various mining companies since its discovery in 1906. The mine remained active until around 1971, when it became solely owned by Langis Mining Ltd. By the end of 1966, the Langis Mine had produced approximately 9.4 million ounces of silver. This is a particularly fine example from a historic mining site with a rich legacy of silver production.
