Dendritic silver and arsenides run throughout this specimen from one of Gowganda's earliest mines, the Capitol Mine. Discovered in 1908, the Capitol Mine is renowned for the crystallized silver typically found in association with nickel and cobalt arsenides. The mine was operated by Castle-Tretheway Mines Ltd from 1929 to 1959 and was shut down in 1964 under the ownership of McIntyre Porcupine Mines Ltd. Excellent!
