The piece likely originates from the famous Jeffrey Mine, once one of the world’s largest asbestos producers, based on its appearance and its association with the other labeled Jeffrey specimens that it came with, hard to tell.
While asbestos is a much-maligned mineral, this specimen stands out as an outstanding and scientifically significant example of chrysotile.
