This specimen features a tabular crystal of yellow-green serpentine group mineral, potentially lizardite, that has pseudomorphed after forsterite. Such pseudomorphs are exceedingly rare, making this an exceptional find. The piece originates from a long-closed marble quarry, which operated between 1942 and 1968, and is a well-known but scarce source for unique mineral specimens.
While the specimen exhibits a fracture across its face, the crystal appears stable despite its fragile nature. This choice thumbnail serves as an excellent representation of a rare pseudomorph from this historic locality, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
