Serandite

Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville Co., Quebec
Canada
Dimensions: 3.0x2.5x1.6 cm
Price: CA

$45.00

This specimen features a salmon-pink to orange prismatic serandite crystal with a velvety sheen. The crystal shows a slightly "moth-eaten" texture on its surface. A small feldspar or albite crystal is perched near the top, and several unidentified microcrystals are tucked into the nooks and crannies, potentially rewarding subjects for microscopic study and further analysis.

The specimen originates from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, one of the most mineralogically diverse localities in the world. Once accessible to field collectors, the site is now strictly controlled and completely off-limits, making specimens like this increasingly scarce. This piece is a fine representation of the exceptional mineral diversity that has made Mont Saint-Hilaire world-renowned among collectors and mineralogists alike.
