The rhodochrosite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire are distinct from those found anywhere else, and this miniature is an excellent example. It features a sharp, pink-brown rhombohedral crystal accented by a bit of a black aegirine and cream-white polylitionite as well. I don't see a point of attachment and so appears to be a complete floater. It's a fine, well-composed thumbnail from one of Quebec’s most celebrated mineral localities.
