The rhodochrosite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire are distinct from those found anywhere else, and this miniature is an excellent example. It features a complete, sharp, brick red, rhombohedral crystal sitting in an albite matrix. There appear to be tiny sprays of what looks like white micro natrolite crystals. It's a fine, well-composed thumbnail from one of Quebec’s most celebrated mineral localities.
