The rhodochrosite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire are distinct from those found anywhere else, and this miniature is an excellent example. It features at three sharp, brick pink-red, rhombohedral crystals, sitting atop a tower of intergrown bladed albite. There appear to be tiny sprays of what looks like white micro natrolite crystals as well as aggregates of orange micro crystals that are yet to be ID'd (might just be more rhodos?) It's a fine, well-composed thumbnail from one of Quebec’s most celebrated mineral localities.
