This specimen features sharp, trigonal rhodochrosite crystals, showcasing the classic form from Mont Saint-Hilaire. The most prominent crystal exhibits well-defined trigonal form with characteristic pink and red hues.
Rhodochrosites from Mont Saint-Hilaire are renowned for their trigonal crystal form, which is incredibly rare at other localities. This particular specimen, found over 30 years ago, hails from the 2004 rhodochrosite-elpidite pocket. Such specimens were never common, and with no recent discoveries, they are highly sought after. The tight cluster of sharp, flat, twinned crystals is in great condition. A true classic from this iconic locality!
