Rhodochrosite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire are distinct from those found anywhere else, and this miniature is an excellent representative of the species from this iconic locality. It features a single, sharp, pink rhombohedral crystal perched on a matrix composed of what appears to be siderite and delicate white natrolite prisms. The specimen is well balanced and visually appealing, exemplifying the quality for which Mont Saint-Hilaire is renowned. While it would display beautifully in a perky box, care should be taken during handling, as the fragile natrolite crystals could be easily damaged during the mounting process.
