Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire are readily distinguishable from those of other localities, and this miniature is an excellent representative example from this iconic site. It features a single, sharp, pink rhombohedral crystal attractively perched on a matrix composed of what appears to be siderite, accented by delicate white natrolite prisms. The specimen is well balanced, exemplifying the distinctive quality for which Mont Saint-Hilaire is renowned.
