The Uchucchacua Mine in Peru is one of the premier localities for rhodochrosite and while there are numerous rhodochrosite localities in the world, the gemmy, fiery crystals from Uchucchacua are distinguished by their superior quality. This rich miniature specimen features several high-quality glowing pink-red, modified scalenohedral crystasl, with the largest crystal measuring 18mm. The crystals are beautifully saturated and arranged aesthetically against a shimmering black matrix of manganese oxides, typical of the Uchucchacua. A stunning presentation.
