Quartz (var. smoky)

This is a superb double-terminated smoky quartz from Galiléia, exhibiting a striking elestial habit. Both terminations show pronounced sceptre development, smoky zones are the most intense at the terminations, grading into lighter hues toward the centre. The crystal displays staggered, parallel-growth faces, typical of true elestial formation, giving it a sculptural, layered appearance. The lustre is excellent, and many faces are bright and glassy.

Elestial quartz of this particular Brazilian style is quite uncommon. Galiléia is better known for its tourmaline and mica-rich pegmatites, making specimens like this a rarity for collectors who appreciate distinctive quartz habits.
