Quartz (var smoky)

This specimen is a superb, perfectly terminated smoky quartz crystal from the world-renowned Brandberg mines in Namibia. The crystal is beautifully translucent with a strong, glassy luster at the termination. While a few micro-nicks are present, they are very minor and hardly noticeable, leaving the overall aesthetics undisturbed. The label accompanying the piece notes a "possible inclusion of bavenite".

Brandberg is celebrated for producing some of the world’s finest smoky quartz, and this example lives up to that reputation with its elegant form and clarity. The specimen comes from the collection of Robert Yeoman, the Irish-born, Toronto-based collector known for his discerning taste and particularly his exceptional Tsumeb suite. This piece highlights his eye for minerals that combine beauty, rarity, and a strong sense of place—an ideal representation of Brandberg’s mineralogical legacy.
