A fascinating star-shaped formation of siliceous sinter, a fine-grained, layered silica deposited in a geyser environment. This material may consist of quartz, opal, or a combination of both. It represents an unusual form of milky quartz that developed within clay-filled channels or vents in basalt. The sharp, well-formed points and delicate pastel pink hue make this piece desirable addition for a thumbnail collectors, fills the perky box well.
