A richly detailed specimen featuring numerous gemmy, amethyst crystals artfully arranged across the matrix from the famous Piedra Parada (Las Vigas). The lustrous crystals show a delicate blush-purple colour, deepest at the terminations, with attractive stepped-growth prism faces. The largest crystal reaches approximately 2.2 cm in length, while surrounded by many smaller crystals. Most of the interior crystals appear pristine, and the specimen offers at least a couple excellent display angles for close examination and appreciation.

Piedra Parada, near Las Vigas in Veracruz, is renowned for producing some of Mexico’s finest crystallized amethyst, prized for clarity, colour zoning, and elegant crystal form. Specimens from this locality are especially valued when they show dense, well-positioned clusters such as this. This piece comes from the collection of Robert Yeoman.
