This specimen consists of three well-formed Japan-law twin quartz from one of the most prolific sources of such twins in the United States. The crystals are notably flattened and each display two sharply defined twin members, at the classic Japan-law twin angle of 84°33′. It looks as though all three of the crystals on the matrix have been reattached back on, as a bit of glue is apparent at the base under close evaluation. In fact it looks like the whole matrix was once covered in japan law twins originally, all the broken ends were once the bases of flat crystals with just these three remaining. The crystals showcase a milky white translucency, sharply beveled edges, and subtle stepped growth on the satin-lustre frosted faces. Comes from the Washington Camp, near Patagonia in Arizona, a historic but now inactive Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag-Au-Quartz mining area.
