This specimen just barley fits into a perky box, it's a well-formed Japan-law twin of quartz from one of the most prolific sources of such twins in the United States. The specimen is notably flattened and displays two sharply defined twin members, at the classic Japan-law twin angle of 84°33′. The piece is well-balanced, with both sides showcasing a milky white translucency, sharply beveled edges, and subtle stepped growth on the satin-lustre frosted faces. It is complete all around except at the base where it was once contacted to the matrix.
Japan-law twinned quartz specimens of this quality are rare from the Washington Camp, a historic but now inactive Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag-Au-Quartz mining area.
