Here is a large and one of the best of our selection of pyrites from Newfoundland. It consists of clusters of stepped cubes on a rounded amorphous unstructured base. The Port au Port Peninsula, on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland has become a prolific producer of mineral specimens, in recent years. One of the most interesting is the occurrence of pyrite nodules and crystals in the shales of West Bay, Tea Cove, Lead Cove, etc. This is a big, heavy, dense one that looks great!
