This specimen features a fine specimen of silvery polylithionite crystals, accented on the reverse side by numerous dark red wine-coloured rhodochrosite crystals and a slender aegirine prism. The shimmering layered polylithionite and the red carbonate makes for a striking miniature association. Collected by Peter Tarassoff in 1964, this piece represents one of his very early field trips into the Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire. Classic, early Mont Saint-Hilaire material of this type is seldom seen on the market, making this a highly desirable specimen for collectors of rare mica species, rhodochrosite associations, or historically significant MSH pieces.
