This specimen showcases a robust, blocky hexagonal phlogopite crystal set atop a white, friable calcite matrix, accompanied by a section of translucent green fluorapatite. The phlogopite, typically recognized for its micaceous structure, appears here as a solid, black mass, adding an unusual and striking contrast to the light matrix. This piece originates from the Liscombe Deposit in Ontario, Canada, a locality noted for its diverse and well-crystallized minerals, including this particularly solid example of phlogopite mica.
