$350.00

This striking specimen features the classic light yellow colour and botryoidal habit characteristic of mimetite found in the 60s-70s from San Pedro Corralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico. It is richly covered with translucent, variably sized mimetite botryoids set against a contrasting red limonite matrix. The crystals are accented by a delicate sprinkling of white hemimorphite blades and calcite rhombs. Likely collected in the late 1960s, this piece belongs to the now-uncommon combination material from the Potosi Mine and comes from the Consie Prince Collection. Most specimens like these were first introduced to the market at the 1969 Tucson Show. This is a classic and exemplary specimen from one of Mexico’s most iconic and historically significant mineral discoveries.
