This is a half-nodule of, mostly, compact, divergent cleavages of maricite crystals. Embedded in the maricite are small patches and crystals and small blue areas, probably vivianite or metavivianite. Excellent specimen of this relatively rare mineral. This mineral is seldom seen, even at rich phosphate localities in the remote Yukon, and is nearly nonexistent from other places. The remote phosphate deposits of the Yukon are renowned as one of the world's great sources of rare phosphate species.
