This specimen consists of mostly, compact, divergent cleavages of maricite crystals accompanied by massive pyrite on the upper portion of the host matrix. Excellent specimen of this relatively rare mineral. This mineral is seldom seen, even at rich phosphate localities in the remote Yukon, and is nearly nonexistent from other places. The remote phosphate deposits of the Yukon are renowned as one of the world's great sources of rare phosphate species.
