This iron/manganese oxide matrix is made up of lustrous, prismatic jet black manganite crystals that have formed into rounded lumps on the surface. Running through the centre of the specimen are micro smokey quartz crystals that show some incandescence under the 'scope. A very beautiful sample from a famous mine that once produced massive amounts of iron for Canadian and US WWII efforts amongst other things.
