This specimen features deep indigo-blue, sharp, and lustrous lazulite crystals along with thick, blocky siderite crystals on the matrix. Lazulite, a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate, is highly sought after from this region, known for producing some of the best examples of this mineral. Given that no new material is currently being extracted from Rapid Creek, specimens like this are becoming increasingly rare. For further reference on the locality and its mineralogical significance, see The Mineralogical Record, vol. 23, no. 4, 1992.
