This specimen features a plate covered in clear micro quartz with lazulite, siderite, a touch of augelite, and radial sprays of fibrous gormanite on the underside. While the lazulite crystals are small, they are aesthetically distributed, making the specimen particularly appealing under magnification. Originating from the phosphate-rich deposits of the Yukon, Canada, this piece hails from a locality famous for producing some of the finest lazulite specimens. No new material is currently being extracted from Rapid Creek, making specimens from this locality increasingly scarce. For further details on this unique locality, refer to the 1992 issue of The Mineralogical Record, vol. 23, no. 4.
