This plate is made up of deep indigo-blue, sharp, and lustrous lazulite crystals accompanied by micro quartz prisms. The specimen comes from the phosphate deposits of the Yukon, specifically at Crosscut Creek . Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate, and some of the finest specimens come from this locality. Notably, no new material is currently being extracted from this isolated and hard to reach locality! Purchased by Dr. Tarassoff in 1979.
