Ilmenite

This impressive large ilmenite crystal from the Wilberforce area of Ontario is a superb, undamaged example of the species. The crystal is thick, sharply euhedral, and exhibits a deep black coloration with a subtle waxy sheen typical of well-preserved ilmenite from this region. Complete all around and free of damage, the specimen shows excellent crystal form and surface texture. Ilmenite crystals of this size and quality are uncommon, making this an outstanding and highly displayable piece from a classic Ontario locality.
