This specimen features a lustrous, fairly large partial ilmenite crystal with a prominent pinacoidal face rising from the host matrix. The crystal is thick, euhedral, and displays a dark black hue with mirror like sheen. It comes from the renowned Madawaska (Faraday) Mine property, a classic Canadian locality known for producing some of the finest non-microscopic ilmenite crystals. Though incomplete, the size make it an impressive example.
