Ilmenite

This specimen features a sharp, lustrous ilmenite crystal with a prominent pinacoidal face beveled by rhombohedral faces. It is a rare and highly sought-after example from the Bentley Lake occurrence, adjacent to the Madawaska/Faraday Mine property. The crystal is euhedral, well-formed, and thick, displaying a tabular hexagonal structure in a dark brownish-black hue.

Notable for its size and sharpness, this piece represents one of the better examples from this elusive locality. Bentley Lake is renowned for producing some of the finest non-microscopic ilmenite crystals, making this specimen an impressive and desirable find for collectors.
