This specimen features small yellowish-brown masses embedded in coarse-grained nepheline syenite, composed of feldspar, nepheline, and biotite. The mineral is a member of the Wöhlerite Group, a sorosilicate characterized by a unique crystal structure containing two topologically independent octahedral walls.
This particular piece was purchased by Dr. Tarassoff in 1977 from W. D. Christianson Minerals. The Wöhlerite Group minerals are relatively rare, and this specimen highlights their occurrence within nepheline syenite, a distinctive igneous rock.
