Heulandite, Chabazite

This aesthetic specimen features a well-placed, fairly large, white to grey chabazite crystal sitting neatly atop a bed of smaller heulandite crystals. The heulandite matrix shows the bright pearly lustre typical of the region, complementing the sharply defined chabazite perched above it.

The piece comes from a basalt quarry in Glenmont, Nova Scotia, a relatively new and increasingly promising zeolite locality known for producing exceptionally large heulandite crystals and colourless to pale chabazite. Material from Glenmont has quickly become desirable among collectors due to the locality’s distinctive crystal habits and high-quality specimens.
