This superb specimen consisting of a mass of pearly-white heulandite crystals from the relatively new locality of Glenmont, Nova Scotia. The crystals are excellent, slightly curved prisms with a pearly luster on the pinacoids.
Heulandite, along with stilbite, is one of the most common zeolites found in the region and occurs at nearly every locality. At Wasson's Bluff, the crystals are colourless to white and exhibit a very pearly luster. The characteristic coffin-shaped crystals of heulandite often have extremely tiny or nonexistent end faces in specimens from Nova Scotia. However, this specimen features a particularly well formed crystal on the top, making it an exceptional find from this interesting location.
