This superb specimen features a rounded masses of pearly white heulandite crystals, showing a distinctive appearance compared to the more familiar forms of heulandite from Nova Scotia. It comes from the relatively new and promising locality of Glenmont, Nova Scotia. The crystals form slightly curved prismatic blades with a bright pearly lustre on their pinacoidal faces, giving the piece an elegant and refined appearance.
Heulandite, together with stilbite, is among the most common zeolites in the region and occurs at nearly every major locality in the Bay of Fundy volcanic sequence. A fine and aesthetic representation of Nova Scotia heulandite, well suited for collectors of Canadian zeolites, Bay of Fundy mineralogy, or attractive display cabinet specimens.
