A classic example from this famous Canadian locality, this specimen represents a typical habit composed of twinned selenite crystals formed within clay beds as floater aggregates. Material of this quality from the Red River Floodway cut is now rarely encountered, making this an increasingly desirable Canadian classic.

A robust, rounded ball of crystallized gypsum forms the core, from which stout, diverging, twinned selenite crystals radiate outward. The crystals are glassy and gemmy with an attractive champagne hue, reaching up to 35 mm in width.

The Red River Floodway area is famous for producing these striking gypsum specimens. This example stands out as an unusually fine piece in excellent condition, with no visible damage. It also exhibits a soft, ghostly white fluorescence under ultraviolet light.

The specimen is accompanied by labels from J. Yusep and Weinrich Minerals.
