The Jeffrey Mine in Québec is renowned for producing some of the world's finest grossular garnets, referred to as the hessonite varitey. This specimen is a textbook example, featuring a sharp, well-formed rhombic dodecahedral crystal with distinct rhomboid faces—classic for the locality. It displays exceptional gemmy transparency, a rich orange hue, and a glassy lustre. Although it represents only half a crystal, with very minimal bruising, it is generously sized and fits the perky box nicely. A beautiful and classic example of this highly prized material.
