This specimen features a vuggy mass of rich green, chrome-bearing grossular garnet in well-defined dodecahedral crystals, accompanied by a few micro diopside crystals here and there. Despite their small size, these grossular crystals exhibit an exceptionally deep green colouration, among the darkest chrome-bearing grossulars we've seen from this locality. Originating from the Orford Nickel Mine in Quebec, this piece comes from a classic and historically significant locality. Notably, the Orford Mine was Canada’s oldest nickel mine.
