Between 2006 and 2012, over 80 kilometers of road construction took place to connect two distant segments of Highway 50, stretching from Buckingham to Lachute, Québec. This specimen was discovered in a road cut near Montebello, Quebec, along this recently developed highway. It features massive graphite embedded in a mix of anhydrite and calcite. Some of the most interesting mineral occurrences were found along a 13-kilometer segment of the highway between Pointe-au-Chêne and Grenville. This stretch is known for its marbles and skarns, which hosted a variety of noteworthy mineral specimens.
