This specimen features a quartz matrix with numerous visible flecks of gold scattered throughout, accompanied by abundant pyrite and areas of green oxidation. While inspecting the piece, I initially marked the gold specks with arrows but abandoned the effort upon realizing how many were present across the surface. It’s an attractive and intriguing Canadian sample; however, it lacks provenance as no label or locality information is available, leaving its exact origin unknown. It is typical of some of the mines in the Timmins area, though.
