A speck of gold can be found set on the quartz matrix surface of this speimen from a historically important Quebec gold mine, the O'Brien Mine. At one time it was considered on of the richest gold producers in Quebec. Active 1932-1956. Gold produced: 18 299 kg. Sabina (2003) states that this mine "yielded spectacular specimens of native gold in fractures in quartz".*
