This specimen from the Kipawa Alkaline Complex in Québec features a unique association of three rare zirconium silicates:
A glassy, translucent, golden-amber vlasovite crystal is embedded within the pink-red eudialyte matrix, while a white rind of gittinsite surrounds the vlasovite. Both vlasovite and gittinsite are exceptionally rare, occurring in only a handful of alkaline massifs worldwide. This piece represents a superb example of their rare coexistence. Vlasovite exhibits bright yellow fluorescence under short-wave UV light. Specimens of this caliber are increasingly difficult to find on the market, making this a must-have for collectors of rare species or unique associations.
