This specimen, from the Blue Point Amethyst Mine near Thunder Bay, features a quartz matrix hosting a distinctive combination of minerals. While the locality is best known for its purple amethyst—some present here on the reverse side—what makes this piece particularly interesting is the association of sulfide minerals, including galena and pyrite, which is relatively uncommon for the Thunder Bay area, making this an unusual and noteworthy example.
