This specimen features a striking combination of two good sized octahedral crystals of lead-gray galena from Jerry's Nose, a small coastal locality on the Port au Port Peninsula, Newfoundland. Jerry's Nose is part of a region known for its galena. The galena crystals from this locality are characterized by their sharp form, some with hoppered octahedrons being particularly sought after by collectors. While specimens from Jerry's Nose are not as common as those from other classic galena-producing regions, this piece is a fine representation of the locality's mineralogy.
