AGS Fluorite Deposit, St. Lawrence, Newfoundland
Canada
Dimensions: 3.1x1.6x2.0 cm
Price: CA

$45.00

This striking specimen features brassy chalcopyrite crystals on a bed of white calcite and green fluorite coated in a dense druse of quartz. Under ultraviolet (UV) light, the fluorite exhibits vivid multi-colour fluorescence, making it an especially dynamic thumbnail.

The specimen originates from the historic AGS Fluorspar Mine in Newfoundland, a significant fluorspar deposit worked intermittently over several decades. It was acquired from a former site manager directly involved in mine operations, providing valuable provenance and context. Although the mine is currently inactive, the deposit remains of interest and may see renewed development depending on future economic conditions.

An excellent and uncommon example from this notable Canadian fluorspar locality, combining aesthetic crystal form, strong fluorescence, and a direct link to the region’s rich mining history.
